Absolutely
MAGICAL
Canyon Run Ranch is Ohio's destination wedding venue located 14 minutes from I-75, north of Dayton in the scenic Stillwater River Valley.
This picturesque property is 153 acres of natural beauty and encompasses about a mile of river frontage, a meandering limestone creek, a wetland area, 40 acres of native Ohio wildflower fields and 80 acres of wooded hillsides. The entire property is powered by a 42 panel solar array. Canyon Run Ranch is committed to sustainability, restoring all of the acreage to its natural habitat and providing a wonderful refuge for Ohio's flora and fauna.
The Canyon Run Ranch authentic American Bank Barn is estimated to be about 170 years old and its rustic charm is sure to impress you and your guests. It gets its name from the creek that runs under and along the lane leading to the barn. The barn is 2,400 square feet to comfortably entertain up to 150 guests, but is perfectly suited to smaller, intimate wedding celebrations as well. We supply top-end furnishings including Chiavari chairs with cushions, round tables and/or banquet tables to seat 150. You can hold the ceremony and reception at Canyon Run Ranch.
To the south of the barn is a lane leading up the hill, through the wildflower prairie, and to the entrance of the woods. Near the entrance, a path meanders through the forest to a cleared area most often described as magical. The ceremony site is at the top of a ridge, below a canopy of trees, a private and serene outdoor chapel. Canyon Run's signature piece is the curly willow arbor, created by an Indiana artist. The sturdy wood benches were built using the wood of Canyon Run's ash trees.
The woods is about a 10 minute walk from the barn. EV golf carts are available for your guests with physical limitations.
We welcome creativity here and provide a setting that works well whether your style is boho, vintage, rustic, elegant, romantic, casual or whimsical. Inspired by the Twilight Wedding? You'll love the woods at Canyon Run Ranch.
We allow you to chose your own caterer, just be sure your caterers are properly licensed. There is shelter available for your caterers with light, access to electric and water.
You can bring your own alcohol, but you must use the excellent bartending services of Craft Event Bar.
We have a strict no smoking policy inside the barn and we have an area around the fire-pit for smoking. No open flames are allowed in the barn. Battery-operated candles are an excellent option.
The fire-pit just down the hill and in sight from the barn provides a nice ambiance after dark. A rock wall provides casual seating behind the fire-pit, all the wood is provided and will be lit at dusk.
The restroom building, built in 2016, blends perfectly with the barn and offers handicap access for the comfort of your guests. The Milk Parlor area showcases the historic structure and is normally used for appetizers and cocktails. The ceiling rafters are the original, made from the trees felled more than 100 years ago and the hand-hewn beams are adored with lights made from antique pulleys and an assortment of unique Edison bulbs.
There are also stalls in this area, where the groomsmen change and get ready.
There is ample parking between the barns for the event, with overflow parking along the creek.
Our dance floor allows for a great dance party below the hand-hewn timbers of the barn.
The barn has evaporative air coolers and portable heaters to keep your guests comfortable.
We have 153 acres of land with great options for photography. Outside of the immediate area surrounding the barn and residence, the farm is not formally landscaped, offering natural views of woods, waterfalls, rocky creek beds, and wildflower meadows. David Bromstad chose Canyon Run to photograph and his line of furniture - it's that beautiful around here.
There is a 2 bedroom apartment with a large outdoor deck for the bridal party to use prior to the ceremony. There are two dressing areas, a small kitchen, full bathroom and indoor sitting area.
Hotels are an easy 12 minute drive and some offer shuttle service for your guests, a great service that you will really appreciate. Speaking of shuttles, we have two EV 6-passenger limo golf carts and an 8-passenger Ranger to shuttle your guests to and from the woods. The golf cart is also a great way to catch those unforgettable shots with your photographer, allowing you to access beautiful, but remote areas of the property.
If you want an authentic, eco-friendly barn wedding in a scenic part of the Ohio Valley, this is it.
